Scheunhage Popek & Associates Ltd. — also known as SPA Engineering — is a full-service, multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm offering civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services. Ian Kier, P.Eng.
Ian has been engineering and designing in the building sector since 2002. He specializes in structural design for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects of various scale and complexity. Additionally, Ian leads all aspects of the design and construction phases of SPA Engineering’s projects, actively supporting the design team and assisting with the coordination of construction documents.

Trevor North, P.Eng.
Trevor has actively practiced engineering in the building sector since 2007. Trevor’s consulting engineering experience lies in the healthcare sector specializing in power distribution and site services; lighting design and evaluation; emergency power generation; fire alarm and life safety design and upgrading; structured cabling systems for data and telephone; paging and sound system design; nurse call systems; RTLS systems; Z32 testing and design; diagnostic imaging systems; UPS systems; fire alarm verification; and system testing. Trevor also draws on experience from the oil & gas industry and telecommunications industry. Over the recent years Trevor has worked almost exclusively on Alberta Health Services related projects.

Yvonne Oakford, P.L.(Eng.)
Yvonne has been providing mechanical consulting experience and knowledge since 2002. She works closely with SPA Engineering’s design team in developing the working drawings and specifications for each project. Yvonne provides direction to the mechanical team to ensure that all designs produced are supporting and enhancing the vision and needs of a project. As the Mechanical Consultant, Yvonne maintains involvement from the conception of design to the completion and turnover of the project.
